Beijing Primary responsibilities included advising the channel on programming and evaluating shows for the channel’s directors, and working with anchors, hosts, reporters, writers, video editors, copy editors, cameramen, and New Media staff to improve their writing, voicing, on-camera presentation, editing, and English language skills. Also worked on documentaries and special series. Helped set up co-productions with international broadcasters, and worked with the International HR department to evaluate and recruit candidates. Served on the judging panel for reporter auditions. Made trips to CGTN bureaus in Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenyang and Zhengzhou to work with regional reporters and cameramen.

Coordinated coverage of Asia for daily international news program, produced by the Christian Science Monitor and broadcast on the Discovery Channel. Managed twelve person bureau in Tokyo, a five person bureau in Manila and stringer reporters throughout Asia. Responsible for all aspects of bureau operations, including finance, administration, and staffing. Worked with print and radio journalists to develop broadcast writing skills and on-camera presence. Directed studio interviews and field produced news and feature stories in more than a dozen countries.

Supervised animation, music, bumpers, graphics, title sequences and location shoots. The program was hosted by Hal Linden and included commentaries by Roger Caras and songs by Lynn Kellogg.

Produced segments in Moscow for a special week of shows from the Russian capital and also served as the remote stage manager coordinating with the New York control room during the live broadcasts.
