Invitation to Sino-India Youth Dialogue
Background of Dialogue
China and India are the only major countries in the world with a population of more than 1.4 billion. Both countries are ancient civilizations in the world and are emerging as major powers with rapid economic growth, which have contributed more than 50% to global economic growth in recent years. The close cooperation between China and India will have an important impact on both countries and the whole world. When China and India speak with one voice, the whole world will listen.
In recent years, due to the impact of COVID-19 and border conflicts, personnel exchanges between China and India have decreased sharply and misunderstandings have increased, which has hindered the friendship between the two countries. To turn the potential of cooperation between China and India into an actual improvement of the situation, it is necessary to enhance the mutual trust and understanding between the Chinese and Indian people, especially the direct exchanges between the youth of the two countries, rather than knowing each other from a Western perspective.
In order to advance communication and build mutual trust between China and India, the Chengdu Institute of World Affairs invites Indian and Chinese youth who study and work in the Sichuan and Chongqing regions to join the China-India Youth Dialogue Workshop. Let us weave our friendship and cooperation through talks and perspective-sharing.
