In the afternoon of 23 June, Professor Long Xingchun, President of Chengdu Institute of World Affairs (CIWA), led Deputy Secretary-General Rex Wang and Director of Social Media Zoey Ren at CIWA to visit Chengdu Translation Association and Linguist Translation Group. They received a warm welcome from Chengdu Translation Association and the Linguist Translation Group. They had a friendly and cooperative exchange with the Vice President of the Translation Association, Ms Du Longbi.
President Du introduced that Linguist established in 2007, is an influential global language service company and foreign-related cooperation consultancy service provider, which has provided over 30 billion words of high-quality translations for more than 30,000 enterprises, government agencies and institutions in China worldwide. Linguist's services cover more than 40 professional fields such as petrochemicals, engineering, machinery, aerospace, energy, automotive, law, communications, publishing, and exhibitions. Clients involved include provincial and municipal governments, the State Hanban, the State Cultural Bureau, numerous consulates, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the 10th and 11th Western Exposition, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, PetroChina, Sinopec, Chevrolet, China Construction, China Railway, and Air China.
After the visit, Ms Du Longbi and Mr Long Xingchun discussed the importance of strengthening international communication work, telling the Chinese story, and spreading the Chinese voice, as proposed by President Xi Jinping. A friendly consensus was reached on the future cooperation between the two sides in international communication.
President Long Xingchun shared a fascinating perspective on strengthening international communication, emphasizing developing global competence and broadening the international perspective of young people. This point coincided with the Linguist's commitment to promoting the training of young diplomatic ambassadors. Ms Du and Mr Long quickly reached a happy consensus between the two parties.
