Consul General of India in Guangzhou visited CIWA

On the morning of October 6, 2021, Mr. Shambhu Hakki, Consul General of India in Guangzhou, and Mr. Liu Han Yang, Head of India Corner in Chengdu, visited Chengdu Institute World Affairs (CIWA).

Prof. Long Xingchun, Director of Chengdu Institute World Affairs, welcomed the Consul General and introduced the operation of Chengdu Institute World Affairs, especially the Institute's efforts in serving city diplomacy, helping local foreign relations, and providing think-tank solutions for government and enterprises in international exchange and cooperation.

The two sides had a frank exchange on the Indo-Pacific strategy, the US-Japan-India-Australia quadrilateral security dialogue, the situation in Afghanistan, China-India relations and international cooperation in fighting epidemics.

The Consul General also introduced the main work of the Indian Consulate General in Guangzhou to the Chinese side, shared India's business advantages and discussed opportunities for China-India economic cooperation.

Both sides agreed to cooperate in promoting the second track dialogue on China-India relations, promoting cultural exchanges between China and India, and helping the two peoples to understand each other directly.

Dr. Wang Yuan, Secretary-General of Chengdu Institute World Affairs, Dr. Wang Xiaoying and Mr. Wang Renxin, Deputy Secretary-General, Professor Liu Junrong, Director of Trans-Himalayan Research Center of Leshan Normal College and some other Sichuan scholars, as well as some heads of Chinese enterprises in India, participated in the exchange activities.
